Understanding description text place

Description text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.

So, it can be said that the descriptive text is a text that explains about whether a person or an object is like, whether its form, its properties, its amount and others. The purpose of the descriptive text is clear, that is to describe, represent or reveal a person or an object, either abstract or concrete.

Tujuan Descriptive text

There is only one purpose of descriptive text, namely to describe, represent or express a person or an object, both abstract and concrete. This is why descriptive text is written in clear and concise language, so that the contents of the text are easy to understand

The generic structure of decsription text is:

             Descriptive text has two structures, namely identification (introduction) and description                         (elaboration). Here's an explanation:

 a.       Identification:

          Identification is an introduction, in the form of an overview of topic.

b.      Description:

Description contains the special characteristics of the thing, place, or person being described. For example, the characteristic, physical appearance, and other things that are written specifically.

           Features of descriptive text

a. The verbs used are attribute verbs, such as be (am, is, are).

b. Using simple present tense

Descriptive uses the simple present tense to explain a fact or truth contained in a thing or person.

c. Using lots of adjectives

Adjectives are known as adjectives, such as good-bad, big-small. Adjectives are used because descriptive text will explain the characteristics of an object, human or animal.

d. There are Relating Verbs

Relating verb is a type of verb that tries to connect to the explanation of the subject noun, such as be, have, seem. Descriptive text uses a lot of relating verbs as a link between the subject and the explanation.

e. Descriptive text has only one focus, namely to explain one object.

Turmeric Turmeric is one of the herbal plants that is easy to find. Indonesian people use turmeric as a spice in the kitchen and medicine. Turmeric has the Latin Name Curcuma Longa. Turmeric stem height reaches 40-100 cm. It has pale green leaves 20-40 cm long and 8 cm wide. Turmeric leaves have a structure similar to fish fins. One stem of the turmeric plant produces 3 to 8 leaves. Turmeric flowers are white or light yellow with a cone shape. The main part of this plant lies in the rhizome which is where the shoots grow. The rhizome is covered with brownish skin and the inside is dark yellow, orange yellow, or reddish-orange yellow to brownish. Turmeric has benefits as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, malaria medicine, stomach ache medicine, so it can reduce high blood pressure. Book and Modules that I Use For Lessons

The book I use in productive learning sessions. The module is in PDF module size used is a minimum of 2MB and maximum of 27MB. This module is entitled “Science of Building Statics”, by Mawahib Effendy. I use this module to study building statics with analytics and graphics. The cover on this module is less attractive, because the design used is too simple and basic. Second book entitled “Building Drawing Techniques”, by Suparno. I use this book to learn things about drawing buildings, such as the different kinds of drawing tools, how to use drawing tools, texture drawing techniques, flat shapes, geometric shapes, and others. The cover of this book depicts several sketches of buildings with a blue background, and a yellow title, with a contrasting color that can be the center of the eye so that it makes the reader interested in reading and studying the module. Third book entitled “basic module of building modeling and information”, by Aulia Putri, Chilmi Nour A, Fidya PS, Dicky N, M Nur Fuan. I use this module to study material regarding design, modeling and building information. The design of this module is quite interesting because it uses several elements that can make readers interested.

In addition to productive block sessions, I also studied general block sessions, of course, the books used were different, including book entitled “Indonesian History”, this book is dark brown in color with a simple design, there are photos of Archa, the Candi monument, and the mosque. This book is the 2017 edition. The total page of this book is 280 pages, with medium thickness paper. This history book discusses the origin of the earth. Events that tell the evolution of the earth through the big bang theory, until the earth becomes its current form. I used this book to learn about Indonesian history, various races, some theories put forward by scientist. Second book entitled Indonesian citizenship education, by Abdul Waidil, Ali Usman , Ahmad Asroni, Hatim Gazali Tedi Kholiluddin. This book contains several materials such as Pancasila, the constitution, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and others. The design of this book is quite interesting because the color combination is good enough to make it more pleasing to the eye. Third book entitled Pancasila Education and Citizenship. This book has an attractive cover because it has many colors and pictures that reflect the contents of the book. On the cover there is a picture of a Garuda bird and a map of Indonesia. This book is quite thick because there are 214 pages in total. This book contains the origins of how Indonesia became independent, who were the figures in independence, the practice of Pancasila, mutual cooperation among human beings, and much more. Fourth book entitled “Forward an English”, by Shyla K. Lande, Eka Mulya Astuti. This book contains some material for learning English, but Mrs. Yuni rarely uses this book because this book is for reference only. This book has a total of 236 pages, besides the writing in this book there are also several illustrations to enhance the appearance of the book, the pages in this book are dominated by orange color. The design of this book is quite interesting because of the color combination and several additions that are quite suitable to look at.
